Want to join the committee? 

​​Committee members serve for three years, after which they may be re-elected.

​

This year Ian, Lisa, Bree, Runa, Jocelyn, Ali, Sarah, and Maureen reach the end of their current elected terms. Therefore nominations are open for:

  • Chair

  • Treasurer

  • Secretary

  • and 5 Ordinary Commitee Members, of whom at least one should be a vet nurse.

The positions will be voted on by ACV members at our annual general meeting, held at ACV Conference 2023.

​

Nominations will close on 27 January 2023, and elections will be open to association members at our AGM.

Ordinary committee members

Committee members play a role in the smooth running of ACV. This involves participating in committee meetings (currently online, usually maximum of three in-person meetings per year, expenses are provided) and assisting with some or all of the following:
•    increasing awareness about ACV within the professions, undergraduate students and allied organisations
•    planning, organising and promoting CPD events 
•    running or contributing to ACV social media activity
•    running or contributing to the ACV website
•    collecting and supplying information and resources for members
•    representing ACV at other events and to other organisations

Chair 

In addition to the duties of the ordinary committee member, the role of Chair involves the co-ordination of ACV activities and includes: 

  • organising and chairing committee meetings 

  • motivating the committee members 

  • being the figurehead of the organisation  

  • being an ambassador for the organisation nationally and internationally 

  • chairing ACV events 

  • general dogsbody and photocopying duties also included!

Secretary 

In addition to the duties of the ordinary committee member, the role of secretary involves the administration of ACV such as: 

  • preparing agendas and minutes for committee meetings 

  • maintaining the database of members,  

  • communicating with members regarding events, elections etc,  

  • communicating with external organisations,  

  • promotion of events etc.

Treasurer 

In addition to the duties of the ordinary committee member, the role of treasurer involves the looking after ACV finances: 

  • managing the ACV bank account 

  • managing the ACV PayPal account which is used for conference registration 

  • settling bills associated with ACV days 

  • sending invoices to ACV sponsors 

  • providing financial report for ACV meetings
